This installation was part of Imperial Hotel Wonderland, Israel's first immersive pop-up exhibition, where over 50 artists and designers transformed the iconic Imperial Hotel in Tel Aviv into a surreal, multi-sensory experience. Each participant reimagined a room or space as their wildest artistic dream, resulting in an enchanting journey through three floors of visual art, sound, animation, graffiti, and installations.
For my contribution, I transformed the 4th-floor corridor into an immersive passage of optical illusions and typographic storytelling. Using lots of paint and Posca markers, I painted every surface—walls, ceilings, and floors—merging pre-planned designs with on-the-spot improvisation. The visuals and typography worked together to guide the narrative and enhance the surreal atmosphere, inviting visitors to question their perceptions as they moved through the space.
The creative process was a blend of structure and spontaneity, allowing the environment to shape the final outcome. This approach resulted in an evolving space that felt alive and responsive, with each step offering a playful interaction between space, movement, and meaning.
